Dr. Albert Bonfil specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder. He is an expert in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and teaches and supervises CBT at the graduate and postdoctoral levels. Dr. Bonfil is a diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, having received advanced training in CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based therapies. He also has particular expertise in mindfulness-based treatment, having practiced mindfulness for three decades and spending time translating ancient Tibetan texts on the philosophy of mindfulness into English.

Dr. Bonfil is a clinical assistant professor in the Graduate Clinical Psychology Program at UCLA. Previously, he has taught and supervised graduate and postdoctoral students at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine, The American School of Professional Psychology, and Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He completed a fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he served as assistant director of the CBT outpatient clinic. He is a member of The Society of Postdoctoral Scholars of UCLA, The International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy, The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, The Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and The International OCD Foundation. As Director of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Los Angeles, Dr. Bonfil provides CBT, supervises postdoctoral fellows in CBT, and gives consultation and supervision in CBT to licensed therapists.
