Dr. Rachel Edelman is a licensed psychologist with specialized training in evidence-based psychotherapy treatments for anxiety, depressive disorders, insomnia, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, health conditions, and relationship difficulties. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and mindfulness-oriented approaches. Dr Edelman also has extensive experience in cognitive rehabilitation for acquired cognitive disabilities.

Dr. Edelman received her bachelor’s degree from Washington University where she majored in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology and minored in Women and Gender Studies.  She began her doctoral program at Yeshiva University in New York after a year of service with AmeriCorps. At Yeshiva University, she received training and experience in CBT, working closely with past president of both the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Dr. Lata McGinn.  Dr. Edelman went on to complete a clinical and research post-doctoral fellowship at the Veteran Affairs San Diego Healthcare System after her internship at the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center. in 2015 Dr. Edelman was awarded the Jeffrey Sage Memorial Award for Excellence in Clinical Psychology. She has presented and published on ACT for mood disorders, family treatments for attachment difficulties, adolescents and social media use, bipolar disorder treatment, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
