Dr. Dicterow is a licensed psychologist specialized in evidence-based treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindful Self-Compassion for patients diagnosed with a variety of mood, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. She is also a clinical supervisor at UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Her clinical specialties include development of self-compassion and mindfulness, mood and anxiety disorders, relationship issues, life transitions/stressors, adjustment after having children, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and emotion regulation difficulties.
Dr. Dicterow earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, where she later taught as adjunct faculty. She completed an APA-accredited internship at VA-Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center, where she received training in implementing evidence-based treatments for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Dicterow went on to complete an APA accredited postdoctoral fellowship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center and CBT California, where she recieived specialized, advanced training in CBT. Under the supervision of Lynn McFarr, Ph.D., current president of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, she was intensively trained in evidence-based treatments for patients diagnosed with a variety of mood, anxiety, and personality disorders. Dr. Dicterow is a generalist and integrates evidence-based treatments in her work with patients. She works collaboratively with clients in a non-judgmental, supportive environment to help them reach their goals.
